If you are wondering which shoes we will wear during Spring Summer 2024, the catwalks of New York, London, Milan and Paris, where the best of international fashion is taking place during this month, will provide us with the answers. From sandals to ballet flats, with a riot of more or less high (and bold) boots in between, this is our guide to the most beautiful shoes of Spring Summer 2024, with the best models coming directly from the fashion shows of the different fashion weeks.
At New York Fashion Week, sandals and boots are divided on the catwalks almost perfectly equally. PriscaVera opts for metallic pumps with ankle lacing, while Carolina Herrera offers romantic slingbacks embellished with floral embroidery. On a grittier front is Lapointe, which completes most of its looks with cheeky vinyl boots, followed closely by Dion Lee’s boots, which are already shaping up to be the protagonists of Spring Summer 2024 fashion.
Fringed, cargo or Texan: on the catwalks of London Fashion Week, boots (strictly high) are worn in all the coolest versions of the moment. From Mark Fast to Natasha Zinko and Ahluwalia, they are the ones who completely steal the show during London Fashion Week. Holzweiler is more delicate with its woven mules, followed by Erdem’s bow slingbacks, while Burberry gives a further touch of character with its sandals characterized by block heels, metal buckles and python prints.
Pumps, boots and platform sandals: variety is on stage at Milan Fashion Week, which translates into a succession of very different shoes and styles. There are those who focus everything on elegance, as Gucci and Bottega Veneta do, the first with precious slingbacks proposed in different colors, the second with super chic sandals characterized by the iconic Intrecciato motif. However, there is also no shortage of more irreverent proposals such as those of Roberto Cavalli and Ermanno Scervino, which send decidedly daring platform models to the catwalk. The boots, on the other hand, are worn knee-high like the Barbie pink ones by Versace or in patent leather by Ferragamo.
Concluding the long fashion month is Paris Fashion Week, where sandals and pumps are the center of attention. The protagonists of the first category are the flip-flop sandals, which we find in a minimal version at Coperni, flat and in leather at Hermèse equipped with precious straps at Ottolinger. Among the pumps paraded on the Parisian catwalks, however, those by Louis Vuitton stand out, complete with a bow tied at the tip. Moving on to boots, Chloé’s Texans and Givenchy’s wedge models stand out, now in all respects among the most iconic models of the maison.
